About The Artist
For more than 20 years, Melbourne-based artist Tom Whitty has lived a double life. By day, he has been an award-winning journalist, best known for managing the national television show, The Project, where he created and co-wrote Waleed Aly's viral editorial segment, Something We Should Talk About. He has also created TV shows for the ABC and Network Ten, and written for various publications including The Age, Sydney Morning Herald and Rolling Stone. By night, Whitty has spent those same years adorning his city’s walls with vibrant street art referencing the people, politics and pop culture of his country. While Whitty’s art has been used to raise awareness for various causes and funds for vulnerable communities, only recently has he begun releasing limited edition works for sale through his store, House of Tom Whitty. When Whitty isn’t writing words or painting pictures, he makes music under the moniker Pope Dingo.
